Life with Carter

We have the great pleasure of having Carter, Natalie and Robby living with us. It is a fun adventure each day. On this day, Carter discovered the Coo-Coo Clock. He watches it carefully.

Then Coo-Coo! His expression says it all! I love his faces as he explores, looks at or is upset with things around him.

We had been wanting to put up a swing and having Carter here gave us the perfect reason, along with 9 other reasons that come to visit! Here again, his little face is so cute and he loves the swing.
Carter had his 2nd birthday just recently. He LOVES Toy Story. Robby made this fantastic cake! The party was in a lovely setting in the back yard at Carter's G&G Rocks home. So fun!

Carter sort of blew out the candle (Mommy did it) of his cupcake. Natalie made the most darling "Alien" cupcakes that went with the Toy Story theme.

Rob and Nat's friend Melissa, crocheted the most awesome BSU cap for Carter. So clever!

Robby had to try on the cap of course, and it looks as if he is really serious about this hat!

Well, this is just a bit of what is happening around here. Carter has brought us a bunch of fun, and like I said, life with him (a 2 year old) is a fun adventure everyday. Carter has a wonderful mommy and daddy who devote much of their time just for him. He is a lucky kid.

Derek's graduation

Here is a shot of the graduate as he is getting ready to enter the Marriott Center in Provo. It happened August 12th and 13th 2010

It takes the love of a whole family to get through school and then graduate. What a great family and great support from Tara!

Tara planned a great party for Derek. Here are some tasty dishes from 5 Latin countries. Yum. They were all delicious! So fun to try new things. I am a fan.

I loved her cupcake arrangement!

Everyone is having fun testing out Tara's great foods, and giving congratulations. Way to go Derek we are all very happy for you.

Gardening

This year's garden started slow. I had to replant my beans due to SLUGS eating all the beans as soon as they emerged from the ground. Frustrating. So, replanted and then this! Beautiful beans and lovely Zinnias.

I love to plant marigolds around the permimeter of the garden for color and they help keep the bugs down.
The tomatoes are fair. There is a huge plant up close to the fence that just didn't want to get fruit. The closer plant did and they are just now ripening. That took a while. We had a wet spring, making for a slow start for many gardeners this year.
